Luck of the Irish: Tea Infused Cocktails for St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick’s Day is here and people around the world are ready for a festive day of celebration.  While the holiday didn’t start out as a day of drinking and partying, with its origins tied to Catholic traditions and origins, this Irish rooted celebration has turned into a day of festive cheer.  Today we have a couple of fun and easy tea based cocktails perfect for celebrating St. Paddy either at home or out with friends.

Baileys Chai

Our first recipe today is simple but packs a punch with flavor! Utilizing the signature Irish Cream liqueur Baileys, this Baileys Chai recipe is quick and easy to make.

  • 2 ounces of Baileys Irish Cream

  • ½ ounce Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka

  • 6 ounces hot Reena’s Chai

  1. In your favorite mug or tea cup, add in the Baileys and Vanilla Vodka.  Gently stir together.

  2. Top off the mug/tea cup with the hot Reena’s Chai and enjoy!

Shamrock Iced Latte

If you like Matcha then this is the drink for you!  This fun cocktail incorporates Irish Cream with our signature Chado x Sinensis Ceremonial Matcha, for a tasty yet festive green cocktail.

  1. In a blender add in the milk, vanilla syrup, and Chado x Sinensis Ceremonial Matcha.

  2. Blend for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until the Matcha is lump free.

  3. Pour over ice and top with sprinkles or cold foam and festive St. Patrick’s sprinkles.

Irish Tea Party

This cocktail is an Irish Tea Party in a glass! Combining together a classic Irish Whiskey, Jameson, with the fun French in origin, Absinthe, this tea cocktail is sure to awaken the Irish spirits.

  • ¼ ounce absinthe

  • 1 ounce Jameson whiskey

  • 4 ounces sweetened Chado Special Green

  • Lime slice, for garnish

  1. Pour the absinthe into a rock glass, tilt and rotate the glass to swirl the absinthe around the inside of the glass.

  2. Further tip the glass to allow the absinthe to reach the rim of the glass, continuing to swirl.

  3. Once the glass is completely coated, pour out the remaining absinthe.

  4. Add ice to the glass.

  5. Pour the Jameson over the ice.

  6. Add the green tea and garnish with a lime slice. Enjoy!
