Summer Tea Cocktails

Nothing beats the heat like a nice cold glass of iced tea, but do you know what is better? A nice cold glass of boozy iced tea! Perfect for a summer picnic, a bbq with friends and family, or even for a quiet night spent relaxing outside enjoying the sights and sounds of summer. Here at Chado we love to find new and exciting ways to highlight and have fun with our teas, especially our blended in the USA teas! All of the teas featured in today’s blog will keep with our monthly highlight for July, Blended in the USA. We have a catalog of teas that are blended locally in Southern California, an aspect we take great pride in. Without further ado, let’s get to mixing!


Summer Peach Iced Tea

Chado Tea Peach Black Tea Cocktail On Table With Peaches

Fresh peaches during the summer is a real treat! This cocktail uses our Peach Black Tea to fully embody the fun and refreshing flavors of summertime.


Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce of the whiskey of your choice

  • 1 ounce peach liqueur

  • 4 ounces chilled Peach Black Tea

  • Lemon wedge for garnish

  • Peach slices for garnish


Directions:

  1. Take a highball glass and fill it with ice.

  2. Pour in your whiskey and the peach liqueur.

  3. Top with the iced Peach Black Tea and stir briefly to incorporate the ingredients fully.

  4. Add fresh sliced peaches into the glass and garnish the side of the glass with a lemon wedge. Serve and enjoy!


Shangri-la Green Tea Party

Chado Tea Shangri-la Green Tea Cocktail

This cocktail is a blast in a glass! With the combination of whiskey, absinthe, and our Shangri-la Green tea it is sure to get the party started this summer!


Ingredients:

  • ¼ ounce whiskey

  • ¼ ounce absinthe

  • 4 ounces chilled Shangri-la Green Tea

  • 2 ounces lime juice

  • ½ spoon sugar

  • Mint for garnish


Directions:

  • In a cocktail shaker combine the Shangri-la Green tea, lemon juice, absinthe, and whiskey.

  • Add ice and shake well until a frost forms on the outside of the shaker.

  • Strain into a glass filled with ice.

  • Garnish with mint and enjoy!


Earl Grey French 75

Chado Tea Earl Grey Tea Cocktail With Oranges In Champagne Glasses

The French 75 is a classic old Hollywood cocktail, but today we’re taking it up a notch! Infused with our Imperial Earl Grey, this chilled cocktail is sure to please everyone who comes across it.


Earl Grey Infused Gin Ingredients:


Honey Simple Syrup Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons honey

  • 3 tablespoons water


Cocktail Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce Imperial Earl Grey infused gin

  • ¾ ounce fresh lemon juice

  • ½ ounce honey simple syrup

  • Champagne or Prosecco

  • Twist of lemon for garnish


Directions:

  1. In a jar measure out the gin and place 2 tablespoons of Imperial Earl Grey into the jar. Cover and let steep for 1 hour or more if you prefer a stronger taste.

  2. Strain out the tea leaves and set aside.

  3. Combine honey and water in a small saucepan. Warm over medium heat, whisking occasionally, until the honey has melted into the water. Remove from heat.

  4. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

  5. Combine the gin, lemon juice and simple syrup in the shaker.

  6. Shake until well chilled, about 20 seconds.

  7. Strain the liquid into a chilled champagne flute and top with champagne or prosecco.

  8. Garnish with a twist of lemon and enjoy!


Rose and Cardamom Cocktail

Chado Tea Rajini Tea Cocktail On Table

Inspired by the smells and taste of the Middle East, this cocktail is infused with our Rajini tea. A delightful blend containing beautiful rose petals.


Syrup Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • 12 green cardamom pods

  • 3 heaping tablespoons of food grade rose petals


Cocktail Ingredients:


Directions:

  1. To make the syrup, combine all the ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat.

  2. Stir occasionally until the sugar has dissolved.

  3. Remove from heat and let it stand to infuse for 1 hour.

  4. Strain into an airtight jar and this can be refrigerated for up to 3 months.

  5. Fill a highball glass with ice.

  6. In the glass pour in the bourbon, syrup and top with the iced Rajini tea.

  7. You can add more syrup and bourbon to taste.

  8. Serve and enjoy!
