Chado Tea Health and Wellness: Bedtime Herbal Chai

Are you looking for a warm cup of tea before bed but don’t want to deal with the caffeine high that can come with it?  Don’t worry, we have your bedtime drink needs covered!  Today we have the perfect bedtime Herbal Chai drink to enjoy before you slip off into dreamland.  Using our Reena’s Herbal Chai, we have taken our signature Reena’s Chai spice and used Rooibos tea instead of black tea as the base.  Rooibos has a natural delicately, smooth vanilla taste with the added benefit of antioxidants and Vitamin C.  


Bedtime Herbal Chai Elixir 

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of the milk of your choice
  • 3 tablespoons Reena’s Herbal Chai
  • 2 ½ tablespoons Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Cocoa Powder
  • Splash of vanilla

Directions:

  1. Add the milk of your choice to a pot over medium to high heat.
  2. To the milk add in the Reena’s Herbal Chai, honey, cocoa powder, and splash of vanilla. 
  3. Make sure to whisk together the ingredients so they do not clump together, continue to whisk to ensure the milk doesn't burn. 
  4. Once the mixture has come to a boil, remove from the heat and allow to steep for 3 additional minutes. 
  5. Using a strainer, strain out the mixture into tea cups. 
  6. Garnish with a light dusting of cocoa powder and enjoy!
