Our Ceremonial Grade Matcha is a carefully crafted single-origin tea grown in Tenryu, Shizuoka, Japan, a mountainous river region situated 200 to 400 meters above sea level. Harvested in early summer by third-generation farmer Natsumi Osada, this matcha reflects over a year of intentional sourcing and production.
The tea leaves undergo a 28-day shading period, a critical step that increases chlorophyll, caffeine, and L-Theanine, resulting in a vibrant green color and rich umami character. The leaves are then processed through the traditional Tencha method, gently dried in a brick room to reduce moisture and bitterness before being slowly stone milled at 56 turns per minute, producing an exceptionally fine, silky texture. The result is a deep bright green matcha with a sweet, vegetal aroma layered with earthy, nutty, creamy, and seaweed notes, and a smooth flavor profile of fresh grass, umami, and creaminess. Best enjoyed whisked with hot water, it is designed to elevate both morning rituals and quiet afternoon moments of reset.
